Management

Since its opening in 1993 MJM Management Group has been the contracted property manager for Yerba Buena Gardens for the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency. MJM is responsible for the security, operations, and maintenance of Yerba Buena Gardens. MJM security staff, as ambassadors to the public, enforce the San Francisco Park code, are responsible for traffic and crowd control, provide support to programmed events, design security plans, and operate and maintain a 33-monitor closed-circuit TV system and central radio dispatch.

Since its inception, the MJM maintenance and gardening teams have been dedicated to maintaining the beauty and integrity of the Gardens while operating within the MJM's zero pesticides and toxic-free policy. MJM Management works closely with the Gardens Program Director to permit, facilitate and manage all Gardens events. MJM provides the security, maintenance, and site support for the implementation and realization of the programs. MJM actively participates in the logistics and implementation of all the outdoor events since they have an impact on the event itself as well as the site. These details include street parking permitting, health department permitting, fire department permitting, SF Police Department coordination, site access issues, power, water, loading and unloading, sign placement, audience seating, and any other special needs the event may require.

MJM has been the recipient of a number of awards in property management related fields, including toxic management, recycling, energy conservation, and several for landscape management. The City of San Francisco has cited MJM as an ecologically efficient business.

MJM appreciates each public space for its unique character, which is defined and enhanced by ongoing programming specifically, designed for the site. In fact, ongoing programming is essential to the life of the project and is the primary determinant for creating an environment that enriches the experience of visitors and users alike. We also believe that every individual involved with the site, from the janitors to the artists are all active participants in defining and preserving the distinct life and character of the site.

MJM Management Group also partners with several other organizations to provide management services to Union Square Park, the Union Square Business Improvement District, Fillmore Jazz Preservation District and the Sixth Street Corridor.
